The Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) is set to assume a key role in strengthening the competence and safety of loading bay equipment installers, becoming the primary issuer of CSCS Blue Skilled Worker cards for those working with dock levellers. This development marks a natural next step in DHF’s long-standing commitment to raising standards across the industrial and commercial door sector. Building on its collaborative work with the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA), through which it already delivers CSCS cards to operatives across the gates, shutters, garage doors, and doorset sectors, this move extends DHF’s remit to include a further group of specialist operatives, those who work at the very front line of logistics infrastructure.

Hörmann UK’s TurboLux high-speed spiral door has been officially verified by the Record Institute of Germany (RID) as the fastest in its class, achieving opening speeds of up to 4.0 m/s and a closing speed of up to 1.0 m/s. This impressive performance places TurboLux at the forefront of a new generation of high speed, rapid-access doors suitable for logistics centres, warehouses, and high-cycle industrial applications.

Engineered for demanding high traffic environments, TurboLux is purpose-built to handle intensive operational demands – reducing cycle times, minimising air exchange, and maintaining internal environmental control.

Suited to both small and medium size openings and designed for use where heavy traffic is present, high-speed doors improve the efficiency, productivity, and safety of doorways through their combination of high speed, improved sealing, increased visibility, and suitability for high numbers of operating cycles. Klimate, a division of BID Group Ltd, specialise in the manufacture, service, and repair of High Speed Doors and boast a full product range that includes the K2 Freezer door, ARDENT Standard, Stainless Steel and Oversize for extra-large openings. Manufactured in the UK, Klimate high speed doors ensures a cost effective and energy efficient solution, whilst ensuring a clean and safe environment.

To minimise heat loss, Rayflex recommends installing PVC strip curtains at entrances and exits, between zones and in cold storage areas. Installing impact doors in high traffic areas and loading docks will control temperature and prevent heat loss in heavily used areas. PVC strip curtains are one of the most cost-effective ways to drive down warehouse energy bills, are among the easiest to fit and can make an instant improvement to heating efficiency.

It’s great to see the variety of activity in the doors and curtains sector, helping to keep logistics moving.
