SSI Schaefer is excited to announce its participation at this year’s IMHX exhibition, taking place from September 9th to 11th at the NEC Arena in Birmingham. As a global leader in intralogistics solutions, SSI Schaefer will be showcasing its latest solution – the RackBot – at Stand A51. This event presents a valuable opportunity for industry professionals to explore the future of warehouse automation and engage directly with our team.

Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to meet members of our management and sales team, who will be able to discuss how our solutions can be tailored to meet specific and operational needs. Whether you’re looking to optimise space, improve picking performance, or scale your warehouse capabilities, our experts will be on hand to guide you through the possibilities offered by our latest technologies.

The Rackbot System is a highly dense and flexible storage solution designed to support goods-to-person workflows for bin-sized materials. It is particularly suited to environments where space is at a premium and throughput demands are high. With the ability to store up to 43 bins per square metre, the system makes exceptional use of vertical space, allowing businesses to maximise their storage capacity without expanding their footprint.

This solution is also highly scalable, making it ideal for both growing operations and established facilities looking for an opportunity to modernise. It serves as a mobile racking buffer for bin materials and can also accommodate classical pallet-dimensioned items, offering versatility across a wide range of warehouse applications. The system is engineered to support fast order processing and high turnover, ensuring that even the most demanding logistics operations can maintain speed and efficiency.

One of the standout features of the Rackbot Compact, which will be on display at IMHX, is its integration of two advanced robotic technologies that work in unison to deliver maximum performance. The advanced robotic technologies are the following; Rackbots, which are Autonomous Mobile Case-Handling Robots (ACRs), they are responsible for strategic handling of totes within the warehouse. These robots can reach heights of up to 12 metres, enabling dense vertical storage and efficient bin management. Operating alongside them are Runbots, fast Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) that ensure rapid provision of priority orders. With speeds of up to 4 metres per second Runbots are designed to keep pace with high volume picking and delivery requirements.

Together, these robots create a dynamic and responsive system that supports high throughput and fast-moving inventory. The bins are intelligently linked to optimise space useage and ensure quick access to frequently picked items. This dual-robot approach not only enhances operational speed but also contributes to a more organised and efficient warehouse environment.

SSI Schaefer’s commitment to innovation and customer-focused solutions is reflected in the design and functionality of the Rackbot System. By combining compactness, scalability, and high-speed automation, the system addresses the core challenges faced by modern warehouses and distribution centres.

We invite all IMHX attendees to visit our stand and experience the RackBot Compact firsthand. A live demonstration will be available throughout the event, offering a closer look at how this solution can transform your intralogistics operations.
