As another new year rolls around, Brandsafe is looking ahead to the client requirements and industry trends that we’re likely to experience in 2025.

The world of industrial workplace safety is continually evolving, especially as the operation of these buildings change to meet the needs of our client’s markets.

With what we’ve seen recently, and looking ahead, we’re expecting to see an increase in popularity of certain impact protection solutions to match this demand.

As clients look to protect their people, property, and processes, the long-term strength and performance of polymer systems in particular lend themselves to these requirements.

Polymer Safety Barriers as the first line of defence

The Brandsafe range of Polymer Safety Barriers has been independently certified to PAS 13 standards by globally-renowned test house TÜV Nord.

From this testing, we know that our Single Bumper Pedestrian Barrier can withstand head-on impacts of 11,000 J, which is equivalent to a 3500 kg forklift truck travelling at 5.7 mph.

We also know that, on average, this product deflects 224mm when struck head-on by an 11,000 J impact force.

With this proven level of performance and impact rating, Brandsafe can use this data to create safe pedestrian routes and walkways around busy industrial facilities.

Protecting people, property, and processes

These polymer barriers are supplied in a Safety Yellow finish as standard, which makes them highly-visible for pedestrians and vehicle operators in the area.

Brandsafe can also provide Pedestrian Safety Gates to install on these barriers at key pedestrian crossing points throughout the building.

We’re seeing more of these polymer barrier systems being installed in the Food and Beverage sector, where hygienic safety solutions are particularly important.

Maximising operational capacity and efficiency

In order to make the most of their available operational space, we’re seeing a number of clients installing mezzanine floors across their buildings.

Brandsafe offers a range of slimline PolyWRAP SpaceSaver Column Protectors to effectively protect the structural support columns of these mezzanine floors from potential impacts, either from pallet trucks or forklifts.

The compact design of these column protectors means that they do not encroach as much into live industrial operating areas as some other solutions, helping clients to make the most of their valuable floorspace.

Safeguarding critical infrastructure

With the increase of Data Centre projects, we’re seeing more demand for Demountable Safety Barriers in these buildings. These barriers allow for key infrastructure to be easily accessed and maintained, while still providing the required level of impact protection.

If an IT cabinet or building control unit needs to be fully enclosed, then clients will likely request for Security Caging to be installed. These systems will keep critical assets protected, while providing safe access for the appropriate personnel.

Avoiding costly downtime

We’re always aiming to create safe and efficient workspaces for our clients, and our impact protection solutions are geared towards preventing incidents where possible.

Rather than spending money on costly repairs and racking downtime, we’re seeing clients investing in preventive measures, such as Rack Armour® and Floor Rail Bumpers.

Made from robust HDPE, these polymer systems will absorb and deflect impacts from pallet trucks and forklifts away from vulnerable aisles of racking.

Providing end user ROI

Whether clients are building entirely new premises or remodelling an existing space to suit their evolving needs, we’re always aiming to provide an impact protection solution that maximises workplace safety and efficiency, while minimising any potential disruption to operations during its installation.

“We’re looking forward to another busy, safe, and productive year in 2025. Providing optimised workspaces for our clients is a challenge that we always thoroughly enjoy. We believe that Brandsafe offers something unique in this industry with our breadth of products, services, and expertise,” comments Gary Coleman, Managing Director at Brandsafe.
