Which industry sectors are your customers in and which ones are growing fastest?

Our customers span various industry sectors, but one of the most notable and rapidly growing segments is the cold storage and logistics sector. The demand for controlled temperature storage has seen a significant upswing, particularly in industries such as agri-food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. At AR Racking, we recognise the critical importance of maintaining the cold chain for products, be it fresh, processed, or frozen goods. Our expertise lies in providing high-density storage solutions tailored to the specific requirements of these industries.

Mike Smyth, UK Key Account Manager at AR Racking Ltd speaks to Warehouse & Logistics News.

In recent times, the cold storage sector has become a focal point within the logistics industry. The need for maintaining precise temperatures to prevent the loss of product properties, deterioration, or the development of harmful bacteria has made it imperative for companies to invest in well-designed and efficient cold storage facilities. AR Racking has successfully commissioned numerous controlled temperature warehouses, ensuring that the integrity of the cold chain is maintained without compromising on warehouse profitability, energy efficiency and sustainability.

The rise of the cold storage sector has been further fuelled by current social changes and the positive impact of the global pandemic, leading to a notable 10% increase in the consumption of refrigerated and/or frozen products. However, the complexity of refrigerated food facilities necessitates highly specialised warehouses. AR Racking is well-equipped to address the unique challenges posed by the cold storage sector, particularly in the food and pharmaceutical industries, providing tailored solutions for short and medium-term needs and adapting to the evolving landscape.
