First system installed at MicuraPharm
The first of KNAPP’s D³ Daily Dose Dispensers has been installed at a facility operated by MicuraPharm in Klein-Winternheim, near Mainz in Germany. Each tablet remains in its original packaging until it is dispensed, which the system performs at rapid speed and with the highest degree of safety.”
Safe and hygienic solution
Once tablets have been picked from their original blister packs into a new one, the blister card is sealed and a card with patient-specific information is attached. Using the D³ Daily Dose Dispenser, MicuraPharm can produce weekly blister cards for up to 5,000 patients per shift with the assistance of only two employees. The automated solution puts an end to labour-intensive deblistering, intermediate storage in containers, the need for visual inspection and manual sealing. Automation also avoids the risks of tablet abrasion and cross-contamination, while ensuring hygienically clean processes according to clean room class ISO 8.
Furthermore, comprehensive tracking of lot numbers, expiry dates and charges ensures 100% quality control and traceability for every pill dispensed.
For pharmacists providing the service of managing patients’ prescriptions and medication, the D³ Daily Dose Dispenser can significantly reduce the amount of stock held in pharmacies, with resealable cups on the blister card even meaning that medication changes are possible.
