Thanks to the introduction of new courses and additional resources, AITT has built on momentum over the last 12 months as the UK’s fastest growing accrediting body for workplace transport training.

In an environment where the HSE has a 94% conviction rate for prosecutions, and fines routinely exceed £1m, the need for accredited training has never been more critical.
With workplace transport accidents still occurring at alarming rates, businesses must invest in high-quality training to protect their operators, colleagues, and themselves from costly mistakes and liabilities.
It’s just one of the reasons that this year, AITT has invested in a new managing forklift operations course. Aimed at managers and supervisors, it looks to tackle the common misconception that general safety training from another industry is enough to comply with current legislation. However, without targeted training, many supervisors aren’t prepared to identify risks or take action.
As with all AITT courses, this one is delivered by accredited providers and results in a nationally recognised qualification. Its one-day format is meant to promote productivity and allow managers and supervisors to not be away from work for a sustained period.
This course is just one of the many things AITT spoke to attendees about when exhibiting at IMHX this year in September. From individual trainers to large national companies, it was a great chance to catch up with members in attendance and answer any questions in person. However, the stand was also open for visitors who are not yet AITT members as it was a chance to share some insights and discuss the importance of accreditation to ensure the highest training standard.
Looking ahead to 2026, AITT remains committed to helping their providers work more efficiently while maintaining the high standards associated with them. Their ACORNS system continues to be an invaluable tool, allowing employers to verify operator credentials and protect their operations from the risks of unverified or outdated training. With initiatives like these, AITT is well-positioned for another year of growth, innovation, and progress.
Recognised for its responsiveness, AITT publishes training standards for multiple types of workplace transport equipment and ensures accredited training providers meet the HSE requirements for lift trucks (L117).
