Hormann Transdek has released a new video showcasing the operational advantages of its Vehicle-to-Ground (V2G) lifts, with a featured installation at Next’s South Elmsall warehousing and distribution centre, near Wakefield. The video demonstrates the functionality of a recently installed 12 pallet, 5.3 tonne capacity V2G lift, highlighting its ability to streamline loading operations directly from a flat floor slab with no need for civil works.

Designed to support agile logistics operations, the V2G lift is a modular, free-standing solution that enables the loading and unloading of all vehicle types at sites with level access including small vans, single-deck, and double-deck trailers. Suitable for both internal and external installation, the lift is surface-mounted, enabling rapid deployment in typically just 1–2 days, without the need for pits or any construction works.

“Flexibility and speed are key in today’s fast-paced logistics environments,” said Leon Butler MD at Hormann Transdek. “Our V2G lifts provide a fully modular, plug-and-play loading solution that fits seamlessly into existing operations. The new video demonstrates how our technology is providing cost effective and innovative solutions for high-volume operators like Next.”

Key safety and operational features of the V2G lift include:

•LED traffic light control system for vehicle and operator coordination

•Fixed, low-gradient loading ramp for safe equipment movement

•Dedicated pedestrian walkway to separate personnel from the loading platform

•Safety curtain and light beams to prevent access beneath the raised platform

•Interlocked safety gates compliant with UK/EU safety legislation

The V2G lift is available in a variety of capacities ranging from 4 to 14 pallets (4 – 12.5 tonnes) and includes a hydraulic MHE-compatible bridge plate. For smaller vehicles, the optional ‘Vandango’ bridge plate enables efficient loading of vans and other compact commercial vehicles.

Suitable for ambient, chilled, and frozen applications, the lift provides a fully sealed and secure loading interface that can be easily relocated without incurring costly dilapidations – supporting flexible site use and futureproofing investment.
