The search is on for the trailblazing women transforming the transport and logistics industry, as nominations for the 2026 everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards are now open. Women working in the sector at every career stage, from apprentices through to C Suite, have until 26 January 2026 to submit their entries.
Now in its 19th year, the awards shine a spotlight on inspirational female talent by highlighting the women breaking barriers, driving progress and inspiring the next generation. By celebrating these exceptional role models, the programme seeks to inspire more women to pursue careers in the sector. Women currently represent 27%[1] of the 2.5 million-strong transport workforce[2] and 20% of the two million people working in logistics and warehousing[3].
Despite encouraging progress for female representation in the transport and logistics industry, true equality is still some way off. Women currently hold 36% of leadership roles across the transport industry, up from 26% in 2023[1]. While this signals progress, many of these roles are still outside core transport functions. In logistics, only 11% of women in the sector hold leadership positions[4].
Pay inequality also remains a significant challenge. Three in five (59%) transport organisations reported a gender pay gap of 11% or more this year, little changed from 60% in 2023. Even more worrying, the proportion of employers without a formal plan to address the gap has risen from 44% to 65% over the same period, highlighting the urgent need for ongoing commitment and accountability[1].
Combined, the logistics and transport sectors generate around £192.8 billion for the UK economy[5], and logistics alone employs more than 8% of the national workforce[6], underscoring the sector’s critical importance.
This year’s awards continue to reflect the industry’s changing priorities, with a focus on automation and sustainability, while also recognising the increasing number of visionary women carving their own paths in the industry through the Entrepreneur category.
Nicole Goodwin and Sophie Catto, joint managing directors of AllBright everywoman, said: “Transport and logistics keep the UK moving, but progress towards gender balance is still lagging behind. As technology reshapes the industry, success will rely on teams that harness a diversity of skills, experiences and perspectives. Attracting and supporting more women at every level is essential to driving innovation and sustaining future growth.
“These awards celebrate the exceptional women leading that change, whose ideas, resilience and leadership are redefining what’s possible, inspiring others to the sector and helping to build a stronger, more inclusive industry.”
The awards are free to enter, and the ceremony will welcome 500 industry leaders. The awards ceremony luncheon will take place on Wednesday 24th June 2026, at the Royal Lancaster London.
