What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
I would have to say it’s working with amazing colleagues who are committed each day to doing the right thing for our customers and the business.
Who has inspired you most in your career?
This would be during my time as a Graduate Trainee at CEVA Logistics with Mark Lawson who took me under his wing and taught me what good looks like.
If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?
A broom or a bin, you can’t beat a clean and tidy warehouse, not just for the benefit of safety but a clean warehouse can tell you a lot about the culture of a business.
If you had your time again, what would you do different?
I would maybe take a gap year and travel.
What’s your favourite pastime?
It has to be an early morning dog walk. Putting my headphones in and listening to a podcast and for that moment just escaping.
Do you play a sport, follow a sport or support a team?
I play golf on the odd occasion. Mainly, I follow Liverpool with a real passion and I also enjoy watching F1.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened in your career?
It would have been during Covid and while on a Zoom call. I didn’t realise I had not correctly muted my mic whilst I took a call from a headhunter.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I used to ice skate to a very high standard as a child.
Who would be your favourite party guest?
For me, I’d say Gordon Ramsay. He’s full of energy and you know you are going to eat some great food.
What is the greatest luxury in your life?
Time, something we all take for granted.
If you won the Lottery, what would you do?
The dream would be a house with land for my wife, and a Porsche 911 in silver for me.
Who or what makes you laugh?
My wife and children on a daily basis.
What’s your dream holiday?
I would love to drive the Grossglockner high alpine road in Austria in the Porsche 911 that I purchased with my lottery win.
What’s your favourite music album?
I wouldn’t say one album specifically but I really like anything dance related, such as Purple Disco Machine.
What’s your favourite movie or Netflix series?
My favourite movie has to be ‘Layer Cake’ and as for a Netflix series it would be Riviera.
What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
Jump at it, the chances are every item in your house has at some point been touched by RTP. We play such an important role supporting industry but also reducing the environmental impact through traditional packaging methods such as cardboard.
