Stephen McQuoid, General Manager (Europe & Middle East) from Powerfleet tells Warehouse & Logistics News the biggest benefit of attending IMHX and about how winning at the Archies was a testament to the strength of the company’s solutions.
Were you happy with IMHX this year?
Absolutely. As our first major UK warehouse event showcasing Powerfleet’s comprehensive safety solutions, IMHX exceeded our expectations. The level of engagement from visitors and the quality of conversations confirmed that the UK market is ready for our integrated AIoT approach to warehouse safety. Winning the Technology Innovator Award at The Archies ceremony was the perfect validation of the impact of our solutions.
What were the biggest highlights of the show for you?
Three standout moments defined our IMHX experience. First, receiving The Archies Technology Innovator Award was an incredible recognition, especially as we’re establishing ourselves in the competitive UK market. Second, our live podcast recording “The Hidden Warehouse Risk That Will Cost You Your Job” drew a large audience and sparked substantial post-session discussions. Finally, our live Pedestrian Proximity Detection demonstration on the forklift consistently drew crowds throughout all three days, with visitors genuinely amazed by the real-time AI detection capabilities.
Did you achieve your objectives in attending IMHX?
We definitely achieved our main objectives. Our goal was to establish Powerfleet as the go-to safety technology partner for UK warehouses and show how our Unity platform uniquely connects warehouse operations with on-road fleet management. The combination of meaningful conversations with decision-makers, strong lead generation, and increased brand visibility has positioned us well for expanding in the UK market.
Did you connect with enough potential clients at the show?
Definitely. We had consistent, high-quality traffic throughout all three days, with serious discussions involving both major UK warehouse operators and global companies with UK operations. What impressed us most was the calibre of visitors: real decision-makers who understood the urgency of addressing warehouse safety challenges and were eager to explore solutions.
What is the biggest benefit for you of going to IMHX?
For Powerfleet, IMHX provided exactly what we needed: a credible entry into the UK market. The event let us demonstrate that our global safety solutions are not just theoretical – they deliver proven results. More importantly, it established us as thought leaders in warehouse safety technology, which is vital for long-term market success.
Did you launch a new product at the show?
Although we didn’t introduce an entirely new product at IMHX, we showcased the unique ability of our Unity platform to combine warehouse operations with on-road fleet management – a capability no other provider offers in the UK market. Our Pedestrian Proximity Detection and comprehensive safety solutions were new to many UK operators, making them seem fresh and innovative despite their proven global track record.
If so, was the launch well received?
The response to our offering was outstanding. Our live PPD demonstration consistently attracted crowds, with visitors impressed by the AI-powered detection capabilities that require no wearable devices or specialised infrastructure. The technology’s ability to provide real-time alerts while capturing detailed incident data resonated strongly with safety managers who’ve been struggling with traditional approaches.
Will you be back at IMHX in two years’ time?
Absolutely. IMHX 2025 proved that the UK market is ready for advanced safety technology, and we’re dedicated to being part of this community’s transformation. By 2027, we expect to return not only as exhibitors but also as established partners, helping UK warehouses achieve world-class safety standards.
