Hilton Campbell, UK MD at Interroll, tells Warehouse and Logistics News how the MCP PLAY launch went, and the benefits of being at IMHX.
Did you achieve your objectives in attending IMHX?
Absolutely. Our main objective with the event was to launch our new solution, MCP Play, to the UK market.
It is a ground-breaking update to our industry-standard modular conveyor platform (MCP) that adds a host of built-in automation features.
It was important for us to present a working demonstration of the system to an audience that represents the full cross-section of the UK logistics sector, so they could see it in action and understand the benefits it delivers. IMHX provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the system.
What is the biggest benefit for you of going to IMHX?
The biggest benefit is the concentration of relevant decision-makers and the opportunity to present a new solution in a real live environment. You can’t replicate the detail and immediacy of live demonstration, and face-to-face technical conversations.
It’s one thing to describe to a user a modular conveyor system that will adapt automatically to virtually any new item you introduce to it. It’s another to have them experiment with a working demonstration loop, see how it responds, and understand how the digital model is replicated in the real world, drastically simplifying installation.
There is a lot of trust involved in selecting a logistics solution provider, and there is no substitute for in-person conversations when it comes to building that trust.
Was the launch well received?
The reception the launch received exceeded our expectations. We had integrators, end-users, and internal partners all commenting positively on the mix of flexibility, ease of deployment, and modularity. The energy and follow-up requests we received suggest the launch struck a chord.
IMHX was the perfect event at which to bring MCP PLAY into the spotlight for the UK market. It allowed us to show it to businesses that are at every point on the automation spectrum, from sophisticated operators to those thinking about dipping their toes for the first time.
The launch was well received, the interest strong, and the connections made have already sparked new opportunities.
