After a three-year break, Gus Whyte is once again lacing up his walking boots and donning his iconic kilt to take part in the Climb of Life, a fundraising event in support of the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). On 14th November 2025, Gus will join fellow climbers in the Lake District to raise vital funds for cancer research.
Gus shared his enthusiasm for returning to the challenge:
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me over the years, and to those who continue to pledge their support. The work of the ICR is truly life-changing, and I’m proud to play a small part in helping them achieve their mission.”
The ICR’s mission is clear: to make the discoveries that defeat cancer. Their vision is a future where people can live free from cancer as a life-threatening disease. The ICR conducts groundbreaking research across all cancer types, including children’s cancers, pancreatic, brain, and lung cancer.
Supporters can contribute by visiting Gus’s JustGiving page. Simply search for “Gus Whyte” on the platform, and look out for the photo of Gus in his kilt.
