FB Chain, a specialist in leaf chain technology for 40 years, has been honoured with the King’s Award for Enterprise – one of the most prestigious accolades for UK businesses.
The win in the international trade category specifically recognises FB Chain for its sustained growth in overseas sales, celebrating the company’s exports of British innovation and engineering, as well as its contribution to the UK economy.
For four decades, the company has been a critical supply chain partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of forklifts, telehandlers, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). It also serves the aftermarket directly, providing high-quality replacement chains to end-users and its renowned wear measurement tools to the service technicians who maintain the equipment.
At the heart of this international success are innovations that solve practical industry challenges. FB Chain’s leaf chain assembly kits – supplied cut to exact lengths with anchor bolts pre-fitted – and just-in-time delivery have revolutionised installation for OEMs, saving on time, space, money, and waste.
This problem-solving ethos also led to the creation of the FB Professional Chain Wear Gauge. Now an international standard for inspection, this user-friendly tool provides precise wear readings in 0.25% increments – as opposed to traditional ‘worn or not worn’ gauges – enabling technicians to plan for replacement at the appropriate time, improving safety and minimising maintenance downtime and costs.
