George Utz Ltd., part of the internationally active Utz Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcel Engels as the new General Manager, effective 1st September 2025. In his new role, he will assume overall responsibility for the company’s operations at the Alfreton site.
With more than twelve years of experience in the plastics industry, Marcel Engels has been closely associated with the Utz Group throughout his career. He began at Georg Utz GmbH in Germany, where he held various sales positions, including serving as Key Account Manager Automotive.
Most recently, he worked as Business Development Manager Automotive at group level, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the international automotive business and strengthening relationships with global customers. In this capacity, he also gained valuable insights into the UK market and the local team in Alfreton.
Thanks to his extensive industry expertise, strategic perspective, and long-standing ties to the Utz Group, Marcel Engels brings the ideal foundation to further strengthen the position of George Utz Ltd. in a dynamic market environment.
