Howard Tenens Logistics has been officially recognised as the Best Warehouse Operation of the Year at the 2025 Multimodal Awards, an accolade that marks a significant moment for our independent, family-owned logistics business and its growing national footprint.

This industry recognition reflects the business’s ongoing commitment to combining smart technology with smart thinking, all while delivering consistent, customer-focused performance. Over the past year, Howard Tenens Logistics has welcomed 17 new customers, implemented future-facing technologies, and continued to reduce its environmental impact – all underpinned by a workforce that takes pride in doing things properly.

While the award is an honour, it’s the principles behind the recognition that matter most: operational excellence, innovation at scale, and a people-first performance culture that drives long-term value for our clients.

“This award recognises our commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and customer-focused service across our warehousing network, which is underpinned by delivering our four operational pillars.

This achievement is a direct reflection of the hard work, dedication, and high standards maintained by our incredible teams across the business. From front-line operators to support functions, every colleague has played a vital role in delivering consistent, reliable, and best-in-class solutions for our customers.

A huge thank you to all our operations and group support functions colleagues, this win is yours.” – Jason Moscrop, Operations Director

With over 4.5 million square feet of warehousing space across the UK, including strategic locations in Swindon, Sunbury, Sharpness, Ashby, Andover and Manchester – Howard Tenens Logistics provides scalable, multi-sector warehousing solutions supported by a dedicated fleet and tailored infrastructure.

The business has delivered several key operational milestones in the last year. It launched the UK’s first uncrated motorcycle logistics model, expanded its technology trials, and implemented a 100 per cent lithium-ion MHE strategy in partnership with Linde. These innovations directly improved site performance, including a peak trading day where one site processed 5,891 orders, exceeding target by 18%.

The introduction of an in-house Solution Design team, promoted entirely from within, has enabled greater use of advanced analytics such as heat mapping, centre of gravity modelling and ABC analysis to support customer growth and site efficiency.

At Howard Tenens Logistics, our four operational pillars: People and Development, Safety and Compliance, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Excellence guide how we operate across every part of the business. These principles shape how we invest in our people, deliver consistent service, and drive innovation across our warehousing network. In the past year, we’ve made significant progress on our sustainability targets, including a 31 per cent reduction in fleet emissions, 33 per cent renewable energy usage, and the consolidation of over 100 vehicle movements. This is supported by a sustainability linked funding model that ties environmental performance directly to financial outcomes.

Our culture of continuous improvement extends to our people and digital capability. We’ve delivered over 2,600 hours of training, welcomed 10 new apprentices, and upgraded core platforms to enhance operational performance and customer support. With a firm commitment to safety, inclusivity and resilience, and with Cyber Essentials Plus certification in place, we continue to operate a warehouse network that is both future-ready and people-led.

With a workforce of more than 800 people, Howard Tenens Logistics is committed to building long-term, meaningful partnerships through operational reliability, customer focus and a culture grounded in its values: Connected, Supportive, Progressive and Resilient.
