Haydock-based, family-owned Law Distribution has appointed Angela Carus as Managing Director, while former Managing Director, John Law, steps up to the role of Chairman.
Working with a variety of business sectors, the company provides UK and European transportation, 350,000 square feet of ambient warehousing space, offers specialist bonded warehousing for alcohol and is a member of the Palletline network. The company also runs an e-fulfilment operation.
Angela joins from Boughey Distribution where she held the position of Managing Director for three years. Her impressive track-record in the logistics industry began with Wincanton where she worked as a warehouse picker shortly after leaving school. From the shop floor, she quickly progressed and has held senior positions with a number of the industry’s key players over the last 30 years, including Gist, Kuehne + Nagel, XPO, NYK Logistics and Culina.
John is the second generation leader of his family’s business and joined the company after leaving school. His new role will see him take-up a more strategic position, working closely with Angela.
Angela’s initial priorities will be developing relationships with the company’s management team and colleagues, reinforcing the message that they continue to be valued by the company and ensuring that this is highly visible. Meeting customers will also be high on her agenda to secure the strength of the business for the future.
