Thorworld Industries, a leading manufacturer of loading equipment, has partnered with HTS TENTIQ, a specialist in temporary and permanent canopy solutions, to provide a seamless, integrated approach to outdoor loading and unloading operations.
This collaboration allows businesses to specify a Thorworld loading platform or dock for outdoor use, while also ensuring employee protection from the elements with a high-quality HTS TENTIQ canopy. The partnership has already been successfully implemented at several installations, delivering practical and efficient solutions for customers.
The two companies first identified their shared potential when they met on-site for a mutual customer project. Recognising the benefits of a coordinated approach, they have now formalised the partnership to offer a comprehensive, streamlined service.
While an indoor loading bay is often preferred, cost and logistical constraints can make it unfeasible – but customers often still prefer some form of overhead protection for their employees. By involving both Thorworld and HTS TENTIQ from the outset, customers receive a fully integrated proposal tailored to site conditions, avoiding potential design clashes that could otherwise require costly redesigns.
Kyle Lomas, Sales Manager at HTS TENTIQ, added: “This collaboration with Thorworld Industries allows us to deliver comprehensive solutions that address the practical challenges faced by businesses with outdoor loading operations. Our combined expertise ensures that customers receive high-quality, well-coordinated installations that meet their specific needs.”
Both companies follow a similar process: after a site visit, they will create technical drawings for customer sign-off, before manufacture and installation. This has allowed their technical teams to offer a single drawing, in which the HTS TENTIQ canopy designs are overlaid onto Thorworld CAD models, providing customers with a clear visual representation of the final installation before work begins.
Typically, the canopy is installed first due to its larger frame, with Thorworld’s modular loading platforms then fitted inside to ensure a precise, hassle-free setup.
Ian Langan, Technical & Engineering Director of Thorworld Industries, commented: “We share the same values and similar working practices as HTS TENTIQ, and we’ve already seen from our first collaborations that it gives customers a seamless service that ensures compatibility and ease of installation for cost-effective, weather-protected outdoor loading solutions.”
