21 years in the moulding, the success and continuous growth trajectory of the company is largely due to the team’s longevity and experience. Established in 2002 by business partners Freddy Bourdais and Mark Rigg they have grown year on year, building up a prominent reputation across the manufacturing sector with customers and industry peers.
Collectively Freddy and Mark have over 60 years industry experience, with some long-serving team members clocking up 45 years’ industry background alone. The combined expert knowledge, skill in design, sourcing and manufacturing experience sets them apart from the competition.
Mark Rigg, Co-Founder and Production Director commented: “We work across a range of industries from automotive and aerospace, to the food industry. The brands we serve span globally and include The London Underground, Bentley, McLaren, BAE, the Ocado group, Bosch and many more. These clients continue to return to us as a result of our levels of service, expertise and reliability.
Our strategy remains as it always has, we have an unrivalled commitment to understanding our client project objectives and constantly strive to ensure high-quality service and solutions to meet their needs.”
Plastic Mouldings Northern are a tight knit company and their many long-standing staff members are given the freedom and flexibility to work off their own initiative to progress the company. This enables the team to focus on finding the right solution. From analysing the problem, the needs and the objectives, to specifying the design and the materials, they are there for the whole customer journey.
Chris Parker, Southern Sales Manager said: “Packaging is in my blood! From an early age and in the school holidays I would help to make boxes in the factory owned by my father, Crowhurst Boxes. I couldn’t keep away and joined the team.
Since then, I’ve worked across the packaging industry including roles at National Packaging, SSI Schaefer and Logtek. I joined the Plastic Mouldings Northern team in 2010, with responsibility for developing accounts in the South to bolster the growing company’s national presence.”
Garry Thorpe, Northern Sales Manager said: “Investment in building long-standing working relationships with customers is a vital part of my role. Many of these relations have been built up over the years in the industry and I have a core group of customers who’ll regularly drop me a line to source my advice and recommendations, when you reach this point it’s a real game-changer.”
The main output at Plastic Mouldings Northern is the production of vacuum formed plastic parts, which sees them supply high quality and often very intricate moulded parts to an array of industries.
Ever evolving, they are also looking to the future and have recently gone through a period of staff expansion bringing in the next generation with a thirst for growth and development. Grace Collingwood joined the team as Internal Sales Co-ordinator, with Lewis Rigg as CAD/CAM Engineer. Grace and Lewis joined existing Sales Manager, Matthew Whittle, in the management team and are helping to direct the company’s future. The move is proving to be a very pivotal point for the company as they continue to maintain their significant footprint in the industry.
