As the largest distributor of reconditioned plastic pallets in the UK, Plastic Mouldings Northern is dedicated to providing cost-effective yet durable solutions for customers. Their reconditioned approach not only supports customers’ green initiatives but is particularly well-suited to the EV Automotive sector. Unlike new pallet boxes that add to carbon emissions during production, their reconditioned options extend the product’s lifespan, significantly reducing the overall carbon footprint.

When Honda’s 370-acre car factory in Swindon was decommissioned, Plastic Mouldings Northern secured a contract to clear the site of redundant plastic packaging. This included over 5,000 folding pallet boxes, as well as plastic pallets and Euro containers previously utilised in their supply chain. Through this initiative, they redirected 25 tonnes of plastic to regrinding processes, thereby saving over 200 tonnes of plastic waste and reintroducing it into various industries, effectively extending the life of many products.
Nearly all types of plastics can be recycled, although the extent of recycling depends on technical, economic, and logistical factors. At Plastic Mouldings Northern, they ensure that plastic pallets are recycled through appropriate channels. Their dedicated recycling partners handle old and discarded plastic pallets responsibly, starting their life cycle from recycled waste transformed into granules and then moulded into new, robust pallets.
Industries worldwide are increasingly seeking methods to reduce their carbon footprints, with logistics operations striving to adopt more sustainable practices. Their commitment extends to ensuring their entire range of Euro stacking containers contains at least 30% regrind material, offering a durable and robust solution to meet all packaging and storage needs, with large stocks available for next-day dispatch.
In addition to promoting sustainability, they also offer a buyback scheme that serves as a recyclable solution and an additional revenue stream for businesses. This program allows companies to monetise unwanted plastic packaging. Upon return, old plastic pallets are assessed and either reintroduced into the market as second-hand stock or sent to recycling partners to be processed back into granules.
Over the years, Plastic Mouldings Northern has diverted an impressive 284,340 kilograms of material from landfill (June 2018 – July 2023), with recent recognition from Aim to Recycle, highlighting their significant contributions to environmental sustainability through recycling waste materials.
