The Cold Chain Federation has announced the industry-leading speakers who will take to the main stage at the temperature-controlled logistics industry’s definitive conference Cold Chain Live! 2024, at Telford International Centre on 4th-5th September 2024.
The conference, which will be chaired by TV news presenter Maryam Moshiri, will feature two days of discussion, insight and debate about the temperature-controlled logistics industry’s foremost opportunities and challenges, including:
- The state of the cold chain industry in 2024,
- The temperature-controlled logistics industry as a driver of economic prosperity,
- A workforce to futureproof the cold chain, and
- Cold chain sustainability, resilience and social responsibility.
Across the two-day conference, main stage keynote sessions will be delivered by renowned experts, including Jeff Kirby, Founder and Managing Partner of temperature-controlled logistics investment manager Irbis Capital on cold chain fund routes; from University of Birmingham Cold Economy Professor Toby Peters on the global potential of a moving the frozen set point to -15oC; and from Paul Whyte, MD of Best Food Logistics and Cold Chain Federation President Paul Bennell on the state of the UK cold chain in 2024.
The conference will also hear main stage keynote sessions from industry leaders including Buffaload Owner and Managing Director Ross Taylor and from Owen McLellan and Gary Stott of surplus food redistributor Company Shop on sustainability, resilience and social responsibility; as well as a session on the new government from Simon Darby, Head of Public Affairs at communications agency PLMR. Cold Chain Federation Deputy Chief Executive Tom Southall will reveal new data on the economic value of the UK cold chain.
With more speakers to come, this will be the biggest and busiest Cold Chain Live! ever and the largest industry gathering.

This year, Cold Chain Live! is introducing the Innovation Zone, a platform to showcase new cold chain products and services. The conference will also feature extended networking sessions, vehicle and trailer displays, product demonstrations, and a three-course Gala Dinner, all designed to facilitate meaningful connections and collaborations within the industry.
