Bartholomews Specialist Distribution, based in the South of England, have rolled out Rack Collapse Prevention’s safety system at their Chichester facility. The installation team worked around Bartholomews’ warehouse staff and spent five days in the 20m tall ambient warehouse to connect around 134 frames at a racking height of some 16m and completed the work during normal working hours. Rack Collapse Prevention uses specialist strapping suspended from the building’s steel structure and attached to each racking leg.
Finding the right storage and order picking equipment will help warehousing and logistics operations achieve easy material flow in, says Edward Hutchison, Managing Director of BITO Storage Systems. With a total of 37,000 double deep adjustable pallet racking positions and a height of approximately 14,000 mm, this installation sets a new standard in efficiency and storage capacity in the cold chain industry.
