Hoppecke Industrial Batteries has posted another set of impressive trading results, achieving 130 per cent of its turnover target during its 2022-23 financial year. The company also grew its customer base in all areas, including energy storage system commissioning.
General Manager Stuart Browne said: “Demand for our products and services remains very strong and since we’re doing more business with existing customers as well as winning new accounts, we’re continuing to build our team to meet customer needs.”
In the past year Hoppecke has welcomed field service engineers, warehouse technicians, another administrative assistant and a new member of the rail team. Now numbering some 64 employees, its workforce is 16 per cent bigger than in 2021-22.
Increasingly, customers ask Hoppecke to manage their materials handling equipment (MHE) maintenance needs. With cost-optimised service contracts based on the level of support required, customers get the best deal for their operation. Also, with one of the UK’s largest directly employed engineering teams, customers can rely on Hoppecke to keep their fleet on the move.
Since battery maintenance is vital to reliable MHE fleet performance, Hoppecke has once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting best practice with three videos that highlight how best to carry out battery topping, charging, and cleaning.
As more logistics businesses appreciate the benefits of hiring batteries and chargers, Hoppecke’s rental offer remains extremely popular. Contracts range from just a few weeks to several months, enabling customers to access extra power when they want it. Typically, rental batteries are delivered within four working days of the order and contracts are tailor-made to satisfy specific requirements.
In recent months Hoppecke has introduced a series of new products. The launch of the trak uplift quadro range of batteries, purpose designed for heavy duty materials handling, was followed by the arrival of a new battery management system. The most intelligent battery controller on the market today, trak collect enhances operational safety and promotes increased productivity. Most recently, Hoppecke added the trak charger HF giant to its portfolio. Saving floor and shelf space, this unit can charge eight lead acid batteries simultaneously and, thanks to a rapid charging capability, it achieves up to 95% state of charge in just 2.5 hours.
“We enter our 2023-24 financial year full of enthusiasm to grow the business,” adds Stuart. “Whilst there are more new products and initiatives to come, customer support remains a priority and with improved resources we can deliver even better service.”
