The process of ensuring that your storage is safe starts at the point when you decide to buy the equipment. You need storage equipment that has been designed and independently assessed to ensure it lives up to its intended role. The design should address the space and width of your unit, maximise storage capability, improve efficiencies and protect your employees. Once on site, the racking must be installed correctly to meet manufacturer and industry specifications using installers who have been correctly trained. SEMA believe that training plays an essential role in maximising safety levels, and it is something they instil throughout the lifetime of a racking structure.

Bott Group wanted to increase their storage capacity and workshop space at their Ashby de la Zouch site to reduce off-site storage and transportation costs. As a previous client, they contacted Aganto for an efficient and economical solution. The Aganto temporary building has helped Bott Group establish a model to achieve the long-term goal of transportation reduction costs.

Attending their second expo in the matter of a few weeks Rack Collapse Prevention is busy responding to enquiries about their unique warehouse racking safety system. Having recently entered the Americas market, Rack Collapse Prevention’s safety system is already installed in various ambient, chilled and frozen warehouses and storage facilities across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Fitted in all temperature environments, Rack Collapse Prevention’s safety system is exceptionally hard-wearing, and different to other racking safety systems by supporting from the top instead of reinforcing from the bottom, which in a collision event means the racking structure remains stable and standing, protecting stock, staff and removing the potential for significant business disruption.

Choví, the sauce manufacturer, has broken into the logistics sector with the creation of Choví Logistics, for whom AR Racking has installed a combination of dry and cold storage systems in its new logistics platform in Massalavés (Valencia). The new business unit of Choví, dedicated to logistics and which operates as a supplier for other companies in the food sector, entrusted AR Racking to maximise the productivity of its new 8,000 m2 warehouse. The AR Racking team has manufactured and designed a comprehensive storage solution, combining a selective storage system, adjustable pallet racking, and a compact system, live pallet racking. Book distributor Hachette UK Distribution (HUKD) consulted LAC Logistics Automation to partner with them in increasing order fulfilment capacity and consolidating some operations into one larger warehouse.

Hachette required a solution to integrate with existing operations across stock receipt, storage of long stocks, case and loose picking for replenishment and customer orders across a multi-tier mezzanine. The turn-key multi-floor order fulfilment and replenishment solution in the 240,000 square feet warehouse included multiple elements and subsystems to automate stock receipt, replenishment to zone picking and fulfilment.

It’s great to see the warehouse industry expanding and different companies offering solutions to the challenge of finding more storage space.
