Ushering in a new age of cross-border trade compliance, clearance, and payment, Rune has arrived.
Designed to save exporters, importers, and intermediaries significant time and money while streamlining and optimising customs clearance processes, Rune makes navigating products and materials from A to B easy.
Created by the world-class teams at Azarc® (formed to remove the inefficiencies and frustrations in the current logistics and cross-border supply chain realm) and British Telecom (BT), working with His Majesty’s Government (HMG) departments, Rune streamlines processes to reduce friction and cost for traders. Increasing visibility to the end-user while accelerating throughput at the border, Rune acts as an automated broker, declarant, and expert in customs and border processes – so traders don’t have to be.
For the last 12 months, Azarc® has also been running a transformational ‘Ecosystem of Trust’ pilot with HMG departments in the UK. Azarc® is leading one of the six consortium pilots; a model created to develop a seamless and secure border. Limiting the need for HMG to conduct compliance activities at the border, instead allowing traders to perform more self-assessments at their premises, it could remove the transactional nature of customs/border processes while reducing costs to the traders.
Nick Weaver, Director of BT Cargo Community Systems (CCS) and Rune partner, said: “I’m very excited to be partnering with Azarc® in the launch of Rune. Since Brexit, the UK has been beset with supply chain disruption and increased costs for importers, hauliers, and exporters alike. Many people are talking about this concept, but Rune has it in operation today, in real situations, with customers enjoying the benefit of efficiency, certainty, and cost savings daily, providing automated customs clearance in seconds – not hours.”
Dave Robbins, CEO of Azarc®, said: “The potential of Rune to disrupt the conventions for how this legacy industry currently works is extensive. The impact and benefits Rune is providing for all parties involved in the process continues to illustrate the huge opportunity we are facing – the opportunity to modernise the way goods cross borders around the globe, which reduces costs for traders.”
For businesses that fit Central Government’s criteria, taking part in the remainder of the pilot will cost nothing. Traders using the service are now saving up to 50% of their customs clearance costs. To join them, get in touch with Ged Bretherton, International Sales Manager, on 07717 531853 to book a demo.
