Despite the challenges of inflation, high energy costs and some lingering supply chain issues after the pandemic, demand for automated logistics systems remains high.
Members of the Automated Material Handling Systems Association (AMHSA) continue to deal with high numbers of projects. “With the intralogistics industry needing to boost productivity to deal with the challenges of singles picking and high return rates in e-com distribution,” explains Dave Berridge, AMHSA Secretary, “labour shortages are leading many companies to harness the power of automation, AI and analytics.”
Informative events
With around 60 members, AMHSA is the voice of the UK’s automated logistics industry and provides a programme of training workshops and networking events to facilitate the sharing of best practice. Recently, members benefited from visits to the facilities of Ferdinand Bilstein, automotive parts distributor, and Elmleigh, integration specialist for electrical and mechanical automation systems.
