The Archies Awards are known as the Oscars in the materials handling and logistics sector, and Combilift is therefore thrilled to have been nominated as finalists in no fewer than 3 award categories this year. Now organised by the UKMHA (United Kingdom Materials Handling Association) the awards honour the companies, teams and individuals in the industry who have innovated, raised standards and helped operators work more efficiently and safely.
Two of Combilift’s new electric powered products that have been showcased in Warehouse & Logistics News in recent issues – the Combi-FSE and the Combi-MR4 – have been shortlisted in the Ergonomics and Innovation categories respectively. The jury was also so impressed with the safety features of the 4-wheel 2-directional Combi-FSE sideloader that they put this forward on merit for inclusion in the safety category.
The Combi-MR4 multidirectional reach truck incorporates Combilift’s new dynamic 360° ™ steering. Which provides unique 360° rotation on each of the 4 individual wheel sets, with two-wheel rear traction control, enabling seamless directional change of the truck while on the move, without the need to stop and change driving mode. This enables the Combi-MR4 to work in forward, sideward and crab steer mode guaranteeing swift operation and excellent manoeuvrability.
The Combi-FSE – available in both 5,000kg or 6,000kg lift capacities benefits from Combilift’s most advanced steering system on its four wheeled trucks to date. The front steering axle sensors, linked to the Electronic Traction Control System on the rear axle enable the 2 independent 15kW drive motors to be controlled individually. The speed of each wheel is determined by the front wheel angle position, providing lower tyre wear, an unmatched turning angle and continuous traction at all times. The patented traction system in this new product plays a major part in ensuring the optimum performance of the Combi-FSE in all weather conditions.
“The categories that we have been shortlisted in reflect some of the core characteristics of our products,” said Combilift Co-Founder and CEO Martin McVicar. “Alongside innovation, safety and ergonomics they are also valued by our customers for their ability to optimise space, enhance productivity, drive down costs and enable more sustainable operation. We’d like to thank the UKMHA jury for this recognition.”
