It is not long now until we gather at our exciting virtual event to celebrate the 2021 Amazon everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards. As we package up beautiful hampers to be delivered to our ceremony’s guests, we are once again reminded of the critical role the transport and logistics industry plays in delivering a great customer experience for their clients. So many of us depend on 3rd party transport and logistics companies to represent us in the best possible light, this industry plays such a crucial role in other’s success, including our own.

This past year, as the events of the Covid-19 pandemic have unfolded, the Transport & Logistics industry has continued to surpass itself, again and again. From successfully managing skyrocketing demands for home deliveries, to keeping staff safe, to ensuring supermarket shelves stayed full in the midst of panic buying, the industry has risen to myriad challenges thanks in no small part to the incredible efforts of the women working in it. It is their passion, dedication, skill and leadership that have shone through again in this particularly challenging time, and we are very proud to be celebrating those efforts at this year’s Awards ceremony.

However, the 2021 Amazon everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards are not only about celebrating women succeeding in what is still very much a male-dominated industry (just 20% of the workforce is currently female), but about creating role models to attract the next generation of female talent and showcasing the fulfilling careers that are to be had in this challenging, evolving and thriving sector. As the leading network for the advancement of women in business, we truly believe that you can’t be what you can’t see. This is why we saw the need 14 years ago to create a platform that visibly applauds the successes of women in transport and logistics and that encourages young women to consider working in the industry – thus creating a robust pipeline of future talent.

This is crucial to the long-term success of businesses. Not only does research show that diverse teams are better positioned to unlock innovation and drive growth, but also that the skills that will be vital in a post-pandemic world – those of long-term risk management and problem-solving – show marked improvement in companies where women occupy leadership roles.

Nobody knows this more than the finalists, whose stories will be told at the ceremony. Each one shows commitment to paying it forward, helping other women find and navigate successful careers in transport and logistics – be that through mentoring their peers or exploring solutions to retain and advance women after having children. It is these women, and the colleagues and companies who champion their success, who will drive the positive change we seek for this industry.

We look forward to congratulating them all on the 8th July and to continuing our work towards a more diverse and inclusive workforce in this vital industry.

The ceremony will run from 5pm – 8pm on 8th July 2021. For more information, to register to attend and to book your company’s VIP lounge at the ceremony visit: everywomanforum.com
