The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) is proud to be the lead sponsor for Transaid’s 2021 UK fundraising event, ‘Way of the Roses’, a 170-mile coast-to-coast cycling challenge, which will take place from 24-26 September 2021.
The international development organisation’s sixth UK cycling event challenges logistics and transport professionals to take part in the Morecambe to Bridlington adventure and raise money in support of Transaid’s work in sub-Saharan Africa, improving logistics safety and healthcare supply chains for communities across the region.
UKWA CEO Peter Ward said, “We are pleased to be able to support our chosen charity yet again by sponsoring the ‘Way of the Roses’ UK cycling challenge – an event more important than ever to Transaid as planned fundraising activity during 2020 was cancelled. In 2019, our own 75th Anniversary year, UKWA members raised £75,000 for the charity and we look forward to helping Transaid achieve a bumper year in 2021!”
This year’s challenge will involve two days of scenic cycling through the beautiful Lancashire countryside and Yorkshire Dales, before culminating in a much-deserved celebratory dinner on the final night.
