This October the Fork Lift Truck Association are launching a new campaign – FLTA Safety Drive. Initially spanning 6 weeks, the FLTA is highlighting a different safety topic each week. Starting with training and moving through forklift, driver and pedestrian safety, to battery maintenance and access control, the FLTA Safety Drive will promote the latest products and best practice within these areas.
Tim Waples, Chief Executive of FLTA, explains, “Due to the current restrictions on holding live events we have had to postpone our Safety Convention this year. However, safety is a vital part of any operation and we are committed to sharing the latest innovations and good practice advice. In previous years we have held a Safety Month but this year we decided to extend this. We will provide our members with specific information on how to protect their people by highlighting improvements that can be made to equipment and operational areas to increase visibility and awareness and reduce the risk of incidents.”
FLTA Safety Drive will be promoted on social media and members will receive weekly updates with information on the focus topic. There will also be information available directly from the FLTA website. Each topic is being supported by FLTA member manufacturers and service providers including TVH UK Ltd, Trelleborg Wheel Systems, Norco Group Ltd, Abbey Attachments, Mentor FLT, AITT, Avonwood, Combilift, Jungheinrich UK, Elokon and Hoppeke Industrial Batteries.
The FLTA Safety Drive is also being supported and promoted by BITA who will be sharing relevant information and safety videos to coincide with the weekly topic areas.
