Despite the current challenges that the UK and indeed the world are currently facing with the Covid 19 Pandemic, Culina Group is working hard to help keep the UK operating as normally as is possible during this difficult time. As a market leading Ambient and Chilled Food and Drink 3PL Culina Group are at the forefront of the daily logistics flows that are keeping our supermarkets stocked and our families fed. It’s a real responsibility to fulfil and it’s a credit to every member of the company’s 9,500+ team across the UK and Ireland that Culina Group are performing so efficiently.

Now employing over 9,500 people at over 65 sites across the UK and Ireland, Culina Group is a major player in their sector. As recently as 2015 Culina Group stood as a £250 million food and drink logistics provider. Turnover has more than tripled in the past three years meaning today Culina group stands as an £850 million plus organisation.

“Our growth momentum is on course to continue throughout 2020 and beyond. At our current rate of growth it would be great to see our group turnover hit a nice round number within the next three years. I’ve got no doubt that we will hit that target and by achieving that goal we will then be the number one privately owned distribution and logistics business in the UK. We will continue to identify new opportunities for acquisition, joint venture, and investment, and by consistently providing unique levels of service to all our clients we will continue to grow, thereby strengthening continuity of relationships and business confidence,” said Thomas Van Mourik, Culina Group CEO.

“2019 was another great year for us with the businesses recent growth being particularly impressive both in terms of scale and in scope. Even allowing for the current Covid 19 pandemic which has obviously impacted on Culina in the same way that it has for the Logistics sector as a whole, we are well prepared for 2020 thanks to our plan of strategic consolidation that was rolled out throughout 2019. This has strengthened and solidified the business in preparation for another big year,” said Thomas.

From its roots as a chilled logistics specialist with a single client, Culina group now comprises of eight uniquely specialist food and drink logistics businesses – Culina Logistics, Great Bear, IPS, Food Pack, CML, Morgan McLernon, Warrens, and Robsons. All these businesses combine to provide an impressive portfolio of 3PL services for the Group.

Each specialist Culina Group business is focussed on its own area of expertise and when required can simply dovetail into other group businesses to meet the individual needs of 3PL contract clients.

“We are continuing to build our strong unified family of specialist logistics businesses. Each of these businesses operates within a unique marketplace but all of them come together and complement each other perfectly always working together towards a common goal of growth through service excellence and innovation,” said Thomas .

Culina Group’s success is down to following its strategic direction of growing to the next level through acquisition joint venture, and investment.

“Keeping a very close eye on the performance of other businesses in the marketplace is something I consider to be very important. We work extremely hard to consistently identify great business opportunities that can be converted to grow Culina Group in all areas. These new business opportunities include potential acquisitions new opportunities to expand and improve our infrastructure and opportunities to exploit the benefits of new logistics concepts and technologies,” said Thomas.

One thing is clear; it is all about people at Culina Group. Without the fantastic highly experienced teams of employees Culina Group would not be the business that it is today. “People, people, people, treat people how you would want to be treated yourself, the rest will follow,” said Thomas.

It’s been an impressive twenty five years for Culina Group and with no signs of things slowing down and with signs of continued acceleration the next twenty five years are going to be very exciting for this forward thinking food and drink logistics specialist.
