whichwarehouse.com, the website dedicated to sourcing warehouse space and logistics services in the UK and Ireland, has come into new ownership in the last year, bringing new energy and capital investment and creating a positive buzz among its members.
During 2016, whichwarehouse.com had over 50,000 hits and the registered portfolio of warehouse properties grew to over 1,400 sites nationwide. Over the period whichwarehouse doubled its membership and more than quadrupled inbound customer enquiry levels, sending out details of multiple warehouse opportunities to members every day.
Throughout their history whichwarehouse have brought businesses together and continue to do so today. They find organisations that need warehouse space and match them with companies that have warehouse space to fill. In most instances the customer looking for space also requires a portfolio of associated logistics services, from basic pick and pack to freight management and transport solutions.
This offering makes the service ever popular with both 3PL’s and vendors with excess space to fill.
Following on from whichwarehouse’s success last year, 2017, its fifteenth anniversary, is set to be even bigger. whichwarehouse.com has been given a fresh look, with all-new branding to support their ‘fill warehouse’ campaign.
Their national tour hits the road using promotional vehicles to meet and greet potential customers and members face to face, supported by direct marketing and further advertising campaigns to generate additional opportunities for members.
whichwarehouse’s enhanced website incorporates a new search tool powered by Google Maps, which will generate even more opportunities. Developed in response to popular demand, this also offers the facility to create a bespoke ‘commercial competitor report,’ enabling members to be more competitive when quoting on future opportunities in their region, an extremely valuable piece of information unobtainable at this level anywhere else.
Quarter 3 will see the launch of whichwarehouse’s European rollout whichwarehouse.eu, kicking off with the implementation of whichwarehouse.es. Based near Madrid, the Spanish office will initially be the central base for whichwarehouse’s European operations, allowing them to grow into neighbouring EU countries. The Spanish office will be managed by a dedicated team, offering support in native languages and ensuring future operations are not affected by potential legislation changes in the wake of Brexit.

Following on from this, Quarter 4 will see the launch of the muchanticipated distributionmadeeasy.com. This sister company complements whichwarehouse.com, providing a unique transport matching service.
The unique operating system follows a new set of rules unlike anything previously available. In tests with key players working under non-disclosure agreements, the results have proved extremely positive.
distributionmadeeasy.com follows the same ethos as whichwarehouse, an inexpensive way of successfully bringing businesses together, and the launch is eagerly awaited.
whichwarehouse’s continued success is built on two key services, direct advertising and a central matching service. They have one objective, to fill empty warehouse space nationwide. whichwarehouse’s online advertising service uses multiple key industry words to ensure its members appear on page one of Google and other key sites via whichwarehouse.com within their chosen region. Prospective customers looking for warehouse space via the web within the same region can view these adverts and make direct contact with no intervention from whichwarehouse.
whichwarehouse also offers a centrally managed warehouse matching service from their new offices in Northampton, allowing potential customers with inbound storage enquiries to reach multiple members via one point of contact.
Successful bids provided by members are passed over to the customer, who then draws up a shortlist based on best fit in terms of location, service offering and price. Customers and members are then matched and contact details exchanged for final negotiations. Over the last 12 months opportunities have varied from a dozen pallets to several thousand pallets and from 500 sq. ft to 250,000 sq. ft.
These combined services, both advertising and matching, start from just over £33 per month, charged annually, with the ever-popular ‘Silver’ offering. Complementing this membership are two new service offerings, Gold and Platinum. Both new memberships add additional enhancements to the existing service, with the platinum becoming ever more popular among members.
In a world driven by technology, whichwarehouse are not just another dotcom, they are on hand to communicate and provide free value added support and advice to both customers and members alike. whichwarehouse has a bank of testimonials from satisfied customers. Among these, Martin Johnson at Tarlu Warehousing & Distribution said: “Tarlu signed up to whichwarehouse earlier this year for the very first time. We have seen multiple opportunities arrive in our inbox daily. We now have a healthy pipeline and have already secured significant business, including bespoke presentation subscription and multichannel e-retail contracts, particularly for Amazon Vendor and FBA retailers.”
Darren Shaw, Commercial Manager, BJS commented: “BJS re-joined whichwarehouse earlier this year and we have noticed a substantial increase in enquiries received under the new ownership. On the morning we joined we received an enquiry for 800 pallets, and by the afternoon we had a match! Thank you whichwarehouse.”
Tom Clow, Director at Knights of Old revealed: “Historically Knights of Old have used whichwarehouse when one of our UK facilities has spare capacity and we do not have a clear successive contract with compatible timescales. In 2011 we secured a moderate contract of 500 pallets which we have developed into a Top 5 group account in terms of total revenue.”
