An up-and-coming racing driver has had the backing of Cesab dealership Northern Handling Systems for two of his biggest racing fixtures of the year.
Cesab branding was emblazoned on the car of 22 year old Max Coates when he competed in the Croft round of the Renault Clio Cup.
Sponsorship from the Stockton-on- Tees dealership and others enabled Max to enter the event, where he achieved top position on the podium after winning one of the two races in his Ciceley Motorsport Renault Clio.
The Renault Clio Cup is one of the televised British Touring Car Championship’s premier races, with rising stars of motor racing taking part in the support races and the best drivers in the world competing in the main ones.
Currently third in the standings at Renault Sport, Max started karting at the age of eight and has risen through the ranks. The North Yorkshire-based driver was introduced to Northern Handling by its customer Primex Plastics, who already sponsor him. Northern Handling Managing Director Sim Horsfield: “At this stage in their careers racing drivers need all the support they can to even enter events in the first place, let alone fund running costs. We were delighted to do our bit to help Max on his way. He is a really nice lad who’s new to Renault this year, so to see him win against other more experienced drivers was really impressive. We’re certain he is one to watch.”
