The decision on which pallet to use to transport or hold your product on is one that is rarely up the top of the list of priorities for a business. If it is then fantastic, if it is not then perhaps it should be!

One conscious adjustment to your supply chain could easily be a way to help drive additional margin, hit a sustainability target, remove the risk of contamination or simply reduce the risk of injury within the workplace.

The Alternative Pallet Company Ltd are not about trying to make everyone switch to our Pallite® range. We are all about trying to get everyone to consider Pallite®. There are undoubted benefits to be had from keeping your pallets in one material, ie wood, plastic OR an alternative such as paper. However, it does become apparent that many businesses are making this decision purely on “convenience” rather than it being the best decision. We are all busy and removing one element from the sales process may appeal and unless your customer is pushing you to a change then why worry about what you are sending your product on? The reason to review is straight-forward. Very few choices you make can impact your business in so many ways.

Pallite® is definitely the best choice for some food companies. We know that because they have switched to us. We have a customer that have over a tonne of oats sitting on our product in the comfort that the risk of nails and splinters has been removed and the cost of transport has been reduced. Win- Win! Others choose Pallite® due to the reduction in the possibility of mould or simply because the recipient at the other end wants something that can be disposed of very easily (A Pallite® can be put into recycling or bailed to provide extra revenues).

The one area that seems a complete “miss” by some businesses is when exporting. The government is working hard with the “Exporting is great” campaign and any business that is currently shipping product by airfreight on a heavy pallet should consider an alternative. If you are not looking to save up to 20KG on each load then why not?

We would love to talk to you and explore opportunities. If you don’t wish to consider Pallite®, then please still contact us as we can perhaps provide advice on other areas that you can ignore that may be of benefit to your business.

Make a choice – that choice could be to be lazy.
