Modal Training, the first organisation in the UK to offer integrated, multimodal logistics training for sea, road, rail and air, as well as a full range of support services, will be attending its first exhibition, Multimodal, at the NEC Birmingham from 10th 12th May. The Modal team will be on stand 920 at the event.
Modal Training will be showcasing plans for its £7million centre of excellence for the ports, energy and logistics sectors, which will be based in Immingham. Equipped with state-of-the-art simulators for training maritime crew, truck and crane drivers, Modal Training will deliver realistic training, replicating the working environment, in a wide range of settings. Facilities will include extensive warehousing, engineering and rail safety teaching facilities, and the UK’s only Freight Forwarding Academy.
Visitors to the Modal Training stand will also be able to find out more about the recent investment in a full suite of advanced ship, offshore vessel, engine room and radar simulators from Kongsberg Maritime, the global leader in marine training technology. The equipment, which includes a detailed 360o model of the Humber, will be used to support the delivery of advanced training courses for maritime professionals and businesses.
Modal Training will also be sponsoring the Young Logistics Professional of the Year category in the Freight Transport Association (FTA) Multimodal awards, held on the evening of Tuesday 10th May.
The awards celebrate best-in-class achievement for all transport modes. Jointly funded by the Grimsby Institute and the Humber LEP, as part of the Humber Growth Deal, Modal Training will be located in a purpose-designed 5,696m2 facilities on Kings Road in Immingham, and is set to open in September 2016.
