Beacons and sounders from WERMA have long been deployed in traditional equipment safety / warning applications in logistics operations. From docking bay traffic light systems through to conveyor band warning lights and sounders the extensive range of products available from WERMA will provide a solution for most applications in the warehouse.

Call for action systems – Identify, Notify, Rectify

With the emphasis today on operations becoming more “lean” and eliminating unnecessary wastage for processes in the warehouse WERMA is able to offer two quite innovative solutions to the problem of resolving line side downtime without staff leaving their workstation.

Signal tower with MP3 vocal element

The vocal element from Werma is a modular accessory to the popular KS71 modular signal tower family. It is essentially an MP3 player so you can download to the unit any audio file, whether a piece of specific music or a personalised message.  Operated by the member of staff at his workstation supervisors walking the line will not only see a red light indicating a problem on a station but the specific message pre-recorded for that station will indicate the nature of the problem to be resolved – “more cartons required on station 5” for example.

Wireless monitoring head of line application

Werma’s workstation monitoring system “WIN” can also be deployed as a wireless call for action system and now combined with a new remote switch device can enable supervision or a service remote from the line to see reflected on a locally installed signal tower that there is an issue out on the line that requires their attention.

The line side member of staff operates a call for action button which will activate a signal tower on the station indicating the nature of intervention that may be required. The wireless monitoring system captures and records this status light change which may be monitored then by key users. At the same time as the operator has called for action another remote “head of line” signal tower fitted with the new switch device andon slave control will capture that call for action and activate the appropriate status light thus ensuring that even remote supervision or services are warned in time of a disruption to production.
