“Tamper evident security tape plays a vital role in secure secondary packaging, whilst it is hoped to deter unauthorised tampering it provides a clear indication as to whether the goods have been opened” explains Sander Greving, Sales Director at Staffordshire based adhesive material specialists SKD Tapes.
The company have launched a versatile and robust tamper evident security tape with some seriously smart features. The new SK77 security tapes are available in three colours red, blue and a ‘covert’ brown that, to all intents and purposes looks like a regular buff tape used to seal cardboard boxes, but when the tape is removed it reveals an irreversible void message that is so highly contrasting it is strikingly obvious even at a distance!
With theft, counterfeit and warranty claims in FMCG on the rise, SKD has seen an increase in the demand for their tamper-evident products to perform in different environments and with customisation becoming an ever more frequent request. The SK77 steps up to the mark; its dry edge means it can be used in an automatic taping machine, standard tape dispenser and by hand. It will bond to all pallet wrapping films and shrink wrapping films, ideal for entire pallets as well as individual boxes; furthermore SKD are able to offer bespoke surface print, perforations, sequential numbering, plus other colours: orange, green, purple, yellow and white – all available on request.
