Leading Nottingham based Sportswear Company PlayerLayer has teamed up with Worksop logistics specialist One World Logistics to provide a dedicated garment finishing and distribution service to its customers across the UK, whilst bringing much needed jobs to the town.
The partnership has allowed the Carton Forest based company to open two new specialist ‘clean rooms’ to pick, pack and dispatch products to PlayerLayer’s growing list of customers. Development of the new state of the art rooms ensure products are expertly treated in the form of garment QC inspection, heat transfer label application and individual garment personalization in a sanitized environment prior to garments being dispatched. Company Operations Manager of One World Logistics Rob Wilson said ‘’we have created these two new cleanrooms that are both of the highest quality standards. We have pretty much custom built a room to service the requirements of our customer’’ he said.
‘’It needs to be a pristine and sanitized environment with high quality lighting due to the nature of the work required. It is all about the attention to detail and offering the customer a bespoke service having listened very carefully to their needs. We have also invested in thermal laser cutters to produce personalized labeling in house, this has massively reduced internet delivery lead times which gives a huge advantage to our customer in such a service driven market’’.
PlayerLayer, who boast an extensive range of baselayer and team wear products, supply garments for more than 80 schools across the UK, including Eton and Harrow, and leading sports teams including Nottinghamshire cricket club.
Rob added ‘’we are very confident about the future with the developing partnership we have established with PlayerLayer over the past eight months’’.
‘’They have a reputation for high quality merchandise and have seen year on year sales increase by 100%. They have some long established clients locally and nationally and we are very excited about what the future holds for them in partnership with One World Logistics’’.
One Worlds UK distribution operation, with its large modern fleet of vehicles, provides warehousing, distribution and fulfillment services to a number of blue chip clients, from large scale dedicated contract distribution to single item parcel deliveries.
‘’Our multi-site operation, including a 30 acre head office and warehouse site in Worksop, facilities in Washington in the North East, and Woodville in the Midlands, provides a national platform suited for the partnership with PlayerLayer’’ Rob added.
‘’We do still have another 4,000 sq ft clean room on the market’’, he said, ‘’we built two. We offer something very different in the marketplace in terms of a very clean environment to work in which I’m sure will appeal to a whole new range of customers’’. Rob concluded with “these are exciting times for One World Logistics and Worksop.”
