An all in one spanner! I work in so many areas in the supply chain and warehouse and need so many different skills I never know which one I will need during the day.

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?

I’m not sure that I would change anything, I have enjoyed building up the business and have worked and am working with some great people and companies.

Turning up for an important meeting still wearing my slippers!

Jasper Carrott or Dave Allen – telling stories about “real life” situations keeping everyone in stitches.

My car – as a child I used to look longinly at a Mercedes SLK in the car showroom window. I finally bought one for myself two years ago.

What is your favourite guilty pleasure?

Eating warmed up left over curry in the morning!

Do a cross country course on horseback – and stay on until the end.

Somewhere in the far east on a unspoilt beach with with a luxurious bedroom and bathroom.

Not sure I have one – there are so many I’ve enjoyed and re-visited. My favourite childhood memory is still the Famous Five series by Enid Blyton.

What’s your favourite pastime?

Very boring really, going for a walk in the countryside on a spring day.

If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Spend it! Help the family out, buy a farm in the countryside and potter around.

What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

To spend time to work with and learn from everyone in the supply chain, from the guy on the back door to understanding the challenges management face – everyone has so much to offer.
