With over 200 high street shops, a catalogue and an online store, which offers home delivery and collect at store, Jessops is the UK’s first choice multichannel photographic retailer. Each year, Jessops moves over 200,000 parcels to its customers and between its stores. Yodel is its trusted partner in the delivery of these valuable photographic items.

Jessops recently renewed its contract with Yodel. Peter Calder, Head of Supply Chain at Jessops, said: ‘In the past year, Yodel has proven that it can efficiently and reliably deliver our goods on time. The accurate and reliable deliveries Yodel provides are essential in the running of our business and offering Jessops’ customers the highest level of service.’

The basis of the winning relationship between the two companies is Yodel’s @Home Service to all of Jessops’ online customers and the delivery of tote boxes to many of their retail stores, all on the next day. The @Home Service is a unique local service by local couriers who have knowledge of when customers are likely to be at home and their preferences of when to deliver. The service also includes an extended window of delivery from 7.30am to 9.00pm. And if customers are not in, the couriers will leave a card with their own mobile number to re-arrange a mutually convenient time, sometimes even within the same day.

Yodel’s dedication to delivering Jessops’ goods to their customers has seen a significant increase in the number of parcels delivered directly to people in their homes since Yodel won the contract. As a result, the number of cards left saying ‘we called but you were not in’, has fallen by 83 per cent since Jessops started using Yodel for their deliveries meaning only a very small number  of all deliveries are now made to Jessops’ customers with the need to schedule a new delivery date.

Whether it’s early morning or late in the evening, by delivering when people are at home, Yodel aims to increase the chances of delivering first time.

Adam Smith, Marketing Director at Yodel, said, “We are able to achieve this high level of satisfaction amongst Jessops’ customers because we take the delivery of parcels personally. Our flexibility allows us to give the widest choice of delivery options. We pride ourselves on offering an unrivalled service.”

Jessops is now in its peak period. Starting in November and lasting until January, thousands of cameras, camcorders and photographic equipment will be delivered to homes and stores across the UK, whatever the postcode.
