Interfit UK Managing Director, Paul Morey explained “The decision to rebrand our service business was not one we took lightly; we have had 50 years presence in the UK tyre replacement market but as time passed it was increasingly evident to us that the market needed something fresh and what we wanted to deliver would have been almost impossible under the Watts banner.
The Interfit proposition is very simple; we offer multi brand, nationwide tyre replacement for the UK forklift truck market with service excellence at the core of what we do. We believe firmly that our customers benefit from having a choice of leading brands and a service partner that is wholly focussed on forklift tyre replacement.
In terms of brands we have chosen Continental and Trelleborg alongside the established Watts products giving a choice of 3 brands across the premium, mid and standard ranges. Our role is that of tyre service partner for fork truck dealer networks which means that we have to offer quality products and that our service delivery needs to be exceptional.
What we are doing extends far beyond a name change; we have examined every aspect of the business and are investing to ensure that Interfit remains the premier tyre replacement company for the UK materials handling industry. We are investing in the key areas of the business – people, processes, systems and equipment – as this is where our customers will benefit.
We have replaced a third of our van fleet in the last quarter and will shortly be launching i-fit our new online customer portal through which customers will be able to manage tyres for their fleets, order products and schedule fitting on line as well as access a host of reports on usage, spend and so on. We are also investing in our national service desk operation through technology and training; we are deploying a new phone system that will allow us to manage our call receipt process better. Everything we are doing has a single purpose – to ensure that from start to finish we deliver a service to the highest possible standards.”
