PPS Midlands, a Returnable Equipment Solutions company that offer rental, washing and sales of a variety of returnable transit packaging, has reached out to support a local charity that is experiencing increased demand on its service during the coronavirus pandemic.

Burton-on-Trent YMCA, a charitable organisation that provide housing and food for the homeless across the area, has seen a huge increase in the dependency on the food parcels they create via donations to their foodbank. This huge increase not only puts a huge strain on creating the food parcels, it also puts pressure on their ability to store and distribute the food effectively.

To help alleviate this issue, PPS Midlands stepped forward and provided Burton-on-Trent YMCA with a large number of their plastic food trays, which will allow for better and more efficient storage of key goods donated to the charity. Along with the trays, PPS, based in Marchington in Staffordshire, made a generous donation of food items that the charity had listed as being amongst their most needed.

Natasha Aishford of Burton-on-Trent YMCA, said: “We are so grateful to PPS for this donation of trays and food. We are all experiencing tough times at present but donations like this make a huge difference. We plan to use the trays throughout our storage and stacking system which we have been desperate to improve, and the food donations will be a big help as demand on our services are higher than ever”.

James Kent, Marketing Manager of PPS Midlands, was full of praise for the charity: “It has been an incredibly inspiring day for us and we are grateful to Natasha and her team giving up their time to allow us to learn more about the incredible work the YMCA does for the community. We are delighted to have played a small part in helping the YMCA with their food storage so that they can continue to do what they do best – helping those in need”.

PPS continue to operate during the coronavirus pandemic and are offering flexible contracts for tray washing and rental to help any businesses that are experiencing an increase in demand.
