The intralogistics industry event “World of Material Handling”, scheduled to be held in Mannheim this June, has been postponed by one year due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We would like to make a solidary contribution to slowing down the spread of the virus,” says Christophe Lautray, Chief Sales and Service Officer at Linde Material Handling, the main organizer of the event. “The health of our employees, customers, and of society as a whole clearly takes priority,” he emphasizes.
At the industry event, Linde Material Handling and more than 20 other exhibitors (including Dematic) had intended to present innovative products and solutions for the intralogistics sector. “Preparations were already in full swing. Many colleagues have been very committed and have put their heart and soul into the event,” says Christophe Lautray. “I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all of them – and especially to our partners.”

The decision was not taken lightly, he says. “Nevertheless, we quickly agreed that we had to act responsibly in the current situation – and that we wanted to.” Lautray continues, “The postponement will help to slow down the spread of the virus and this is the top priority.”

New date for June 2021

The new date for the “World of Material Handling” is expected to be in June 2021, the venue will remain the Maimarktgelaende in Mannheim. “The concept will remain unchanged,” says Lautray. “We want to connect with both existing and prospective customers, listen to them, and exchange ideas about solutions that are already available as well as future developments.”
