Nine months since launching the industry’s first plastic pallet recycling scheme, Goplasticpallets.com has now recovered and recycled a staggering 192 tonnes of plastic from customers’ used or unwanted plastic pallets and boxes – a sign that customers are truly embracing the company’s environmental commitment.

In fact, over recent months Goplasticpallets.com has received high praise from an increasing number of customers who appreciate the responsible attitude the company is taking towards plastic waste recycling.

One customer, a specialist in wholegrain and malted ingredients, said of the scheme: “In March this year, we used the plastic recycling scheme for the first time, where we returned unwanted plastic pallets and were credited back according to weight. This is a terrific service and we are fully supportive of the scheme.”

Another customer, a global medical technology company, commented: “This is a great environmental policy and as a customer we will support you any way we can.”

In addition, customers have also offered to help raise the profile of the plastic pallet recycling scheme. Gemma Clarke, Sales & Marketing Support Manager at Nerak, said: “We think this is very topical and would like to support you with this, including mentions on LinkedIn to help spread the word.”

As Goplasticpallets.com edges ever closer towards its target of recycling 350 tonnes of plastic waste by February 2020 (a year since the launch of the scheme), the company is making it even easier for customers to sign up.

There is now a dedicated section on the company website, where customers can fill in a form to register their interest in recycling their plastic pallets and boxes, once they have reached the end of their working life. Goplasticpallets.com has also appointed a recycling advisor in-house to answer customers questions and handle the logistics of recovering their unwanted plastic pallets and boxes and returning them to their recycling facility in Belgium.

Jim Hardisty, Managing Director for Goplasticpallets.com, said: “I’m delighted to say that we’re well on track to achieving our plastic waste recycling target. When we launched our scheme, we hoped it would be something customers would embrace but we hadn’t anticipated the level of support and endorsement we’ve received.”
