The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has confirmed the appointment of Nicola Ridges-Jones, Managing Director of MS Holdings (South) Ltd, as the association’s new Chair. Nicola succeeds Stobart Aviation’s Graeme Undy, who had served in the role since 2016.
Nicola said: “These are very exciting times and I’m delighted to be taking on responsibility for leading UKWA. I look forward to taking the association forward and keeping my finger on the pulse in this fast-changing sector.”
She continued: “There’s a great deal to do as the industry continues to change at a rapid rate. Logistics and warehousing represent the new face of retail as consumers purchase more goods online. Going forward, we’re going to need more warehousing and more people, but we’re going to have to think in a different way, taking into consideration environmental factors, shopping trends and digital developments.” UKWA CEO, Peter Ward, commented: “Nicola brings passion and experience to her new role and I am sure that she will make a strong contribution to UKWA over the next two years.”
