Leicestershire based hazardous goods transportation company Hazchem chose WiFi specialist Performance Networks to install a reliable WiFi network to support their fast-growing business.

The Hazchem Network, established in 2004, recently moved into their new hub based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, a dedicated 10-acre freehold site. The hub handles over 2000 pallets and parcels every night, through their network of over 50 independent hauliers.

Hazchem were looking for a solution to reduce any potential downtime caused by a disruptive WiFi connection at their hub. They are dependent on a stable connection to support their online barcoded freight scanning system which is a critical part of running their operation.

They reached out to Performance Networks and after an initial discussion decided to progress to a WiFi survey, an essential part of the planning and design phase of a wireless network in any set of premises or location. Factors considered in the survey included the size of the building, the required coverage, the number of devices accessing the network capacity, current infrastructure, interference, and the construction of the building.

Following the WiFi installation, Gary Cane, IT Manager at Hazchem said –

“After speaking to a technician at Performance Networks, it was an easy choice. We could not have been happier with the work carried out by Performance Networks on our WiFi network”.
