ANGELA COTTON, MINICLIPPER LOGISTICS LTD

Angela Cotton has worked with Miniclipper Logistics for seven years. Starting her career on a temporary contract as a Warehouse Administrator, Angela’s drive and hunger to learn all aspects of the business enabled her to progress to Transport Customer Service Account Manager, Warehouse Administration Supervisor and Key Account Manager for a large volume storage account. She was appointed to her current position as manager of Miniclipper’s Leighton Industrial Park site in June 2018 and is Miniclipper’s first ever female warehousing manager. Under Angela’s leadership, storage sales at the Leighton Industrial Park site have improved by 40%, performing over £50k ahead of budget with a 48.7% improvement in margin. CRAIG PERRIN, HEMISPHERE

Over the course of more than 10 years, Craig Perrin has grown from working part time in Hemisphere’s warehousing operation to become the company’s UK Warehousing and Transport Manager. During this upward career trajectory, he has shown remarkable passion, drive and business acumen and demonstrated exceptional leadership.

Danny Salt, Hemisphere Freight Services Ltd’s Financial Director, says of Craig: “We are extremely proud to have Craig as part of our team. Since he took over as manager, our warehouse and transport division has gone from strength to strength. A complete overhaul of how we were running has made us more efficient and productive resulting in a major increase in profitability. As a direct result of Craig’s approach, existing customers have been giving us additional work and, with our enhanced reputation attracting new business, it has been necessary to open two additional facilities. PAUL LANGHAM, PRICECHECK

Paul Langham joined Pricecheck as Warehouse Manager in October 2015 since which time the company has expanded significantly into new markets and new territories while turnover has doubled from £40m to in excess of £80m and the number of workers employed has grown from 74 to 165.

Paul has responsibility for managing the warehouse at Pricecheck’s main site as well as an overspill unit which, between, them provide some 183,705 sq ft of storage space.

Now managing a team of 75 people, Paul oversees all warehouse functions including goods in, contract packing, picking, checking and dispatch. “Paul is an inspirational figurehead within our warehouse and leads by example. He has never had a day off sick, is a trusted and influential manager and is always willing to go the extra mile,” says Operations Manager, Mark Amos. Mark adds: “I have huge confidence in him and in the job that he does. He has been instrumental in the growth of the company.”

JOE CAUNCE, WH BOWKER LTD

Joe Caunce, joined WH Bowker Ltd in 2012 as a Contract Supervisor. Within this role Joe became familiar with various processes, gaining a real understanding of how Bowker’s key customers operate. He soon became an integral part of the operations team, working closely with IT to streamline and automate vital aspects of the business. These updates increased the operation’s efficiency and reduced errors while improving customer satisfaction and overall productivity.

In 2018, Joe’s contribution was recognised by his promotion to the position of Operations Manager at Bowker’s Selby distribution centre. Company director, Neil Bowker, comments: “From the outset, Joe’s attitude and commitment to improving both himself and our operational processes has been outstanding. The automated processes he has implemented at Selby have been so successful that they have been rolled out across Bowker’s other distribution centres.”
