Impact Handling, the sole UK and Ireland distributor for Konecranes Lift Trucks, has enjoyed another year of rapid growth with particularly strong demand for its Konecranes range of heavy lift trucks and container handling equipment.

A period of significant investment, has seen Impact expand its big truck operation to offer factory-backed support for the complete Konecranes product range across the entire UK.

The support, delivered via its dedicated service team together with its specialist dealer network, is intended to provide customers with an elevated service experience and an enhanced rapid response capability.

Terry Kendrew, Managing Director at Impact Handling explains: “We have invested in every single corner of our big truck offering. Expanding both our technical support team and our service engineering capability out in the field. The growth of our team has been matched with further investment in training and equipment alongside extensive new truck, short term rental and parts inventories.”

Impact has recently completed the roll-out of a new fleet of specialist heavy truck support vehicles. The service vans, which will be deployed across Impact’s dedicated engineering teams, have all been specified with state-of-the-art tooling and advanced equipment to support the Konecranes range.

Since becoming the sole UK distributor for the Konecranes Lift Trucks brand in 2016, Impact has worked closely with the Konecranes factory to enlarge the footprint of the Swedish brand in the UK.

Andreas Falk, Managing Director of Konecranes Lift Trucks says: “In Impact we have an exceptional partner. One who shares our vision for the UK market and who is capable of delivering customer satisfaction to the very highest levels. Together, we have worked hard on every element of our offering – from our pricing models, through productivity and ecoefficiency product features, to our fasttrack parts distribution – and are now better placed than ever to grow our presence in the UK. With everything we do underpinned by Konecranes’ famed reliability, we believe that together we now offer the best value total solutions in the marketplace.”

Impact has seen notably strong demand for Konecranes equipment across the ports and terminals sector, where its combination of high performance, exceptional build quality and advanced fleet management technology has proven particularly popular with customers.

Mr Kendrew, comments: “Portcentric distribution networks are essential to our economy and the demands placed on them are only getting bigger and more complex. Impact is committed to the sector for the long-haul and we are focusing all our efforts on giving our customers the enhanced reliability, efficiency and cost reduction they need to be able to compete.”
