An industry-leading project management company which counts major high street chains among its client base has extended its workshop with a Spaciotempo retractable tunnel.
ICM Ltd, which designs, builds and installs bespoke shop fittings and office interiors, needed additional space outside the main unit to store its finished products, allowing the team to work at full capacity inside.
Spaciotempo’s retractable tunnel, measuring 8m wide x 6m long and 4m high when extended, has proved to be the perfect overflow area.
The customised green tunnel ensures products are sheltered from the elements and remain damage-free while a curtain across the front provides additional protection.
The robust structure is made of anodised aluminium structural arches, connected by galvanised steel pantographs. Each arch is equipped with two rubber tyres.
Protection
ICM Ltd General Manager Andy Payne said: “Demand for our bespoke shop and office fit-outs has continued to grow, leading to a need for additional undercover space where goods awaiting collection can be stored, rather than taking up room in the workshop.
“Due to the nature of the materials we use, it was essential that the storage area was under shelter to protect our products from the wind and rain. The team previously had to cover and uncover the goods if they were waiting outside to be collected – time that could have been far better spent working on new orders for our clients.
“The tunnel is also beneficial to our employees who no longer have to load and unload goods in the wind or rain as the lorries can now back right up to the workshop door, remaining under cover. The curtain at the front of the tunnel provides an added layer of protection which will be invaluable during the autumn and winter months as our site is open and is at the mercy of the elements. All in all, it is a good quality product that is doing the job we need it to do.”
