Leading supply chain, transport and logistics company, Eddie Stobart has been awarded a Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award for the second time running.

Having originally been awarded the Silver accolade in 2014, Eddie Stobart has showed continued support to the forces and today resigned the Armed Forces Covenant, welcoming Armed Forces personnel to its headquarters in Warrington to meet employees who are already Reservists.

Eddie Stobart works hard to recruit service leavers and actively encourages its employees who wish to join the Reserves. As part of the company’s support, policies and measures are in place to ensure employees can give their full commitment to the Armed Forces. This includes an extra two-weeks paid leave, on top of normal holiday allowance, to attend an annual training camp.

Employees are also encouraged to attend recruitment activities on a regular basis to share their experiences and promote the Reserves.

The company has a number of planned activities for 2018, including:

Working alongside the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to encourage job applications to Eddie Stobart and increase exposure to the service leaver community

Encouraging membership of the Reserves and Cadets to the company’s new intake of Graduates in September

Angelina Miley, HR Director at Eddie Stobart said, “As one of the major logistics providers in the UK, we are proud of our role in supporting the Armed Forces. We are continually looking at how we aid employees who are part of the Reserve Forces and we’re keen to recruit people leaving military service. We look forward to growing our relationship with the MoD over the coming years.”
