PALLITE – The Alternative Packaging Company will showcase the capabilities of a £100,000 technology, which has put the company at the forefront of secure packaging design, at Multimodal 2018 at the NEC in Birmingham, 1st- 3rd May.

Using versatile CNC technology, PALLITE can successfully add bespoke locators and fitments to boxes that offer protection for items with irregular shapes. By offering a more secure fit by design, a PALLITE pallet box resists movement and reduces the risk of damage more effectively than its corrugate equivalent.

The capabilities of the new machine allow for the successful combination of technology with PALLITE materials. It will be showcased at Multimodal 2018, the UK and Ireland’s premier freight transport, logistics and supply chain management event, taking place at the NEC from 1-3 May.

The PALLITE Pallet Box is well suited to the automotive industry and has already been adopted by numerous organisations. With a collapsible design that is known for strength and with a 25mm reinforced honeycomb wall, a PALLITE Pallet Box is proven to withstand even the most turbulent of journeys.

Patrick Mulhall, managing director of the Wellingboroughbased company, said: “We have made this significant investment at a time when the mantra of ‘work smarter rather than harder’ has never been more relevant to manufacturing.

“We pride ourselves on providing solutions that ultimately lead to a cash saving for all our customers. “The state-of-the art CNC cutter, which has a 6x3m working area, aims to not only increase production capabilities and capacity, but also extend the PALLITE offering. This is all part of the next phase of evolution from a company looking to meet the growing demand for the company’s award-winning PALLITE range.”

The equipment can readily switch between specifications to ensure a slick service. The new CNC capability means that the PALLITE range can now satisfy more requests from within key industries as well as explore entirely new sectors with an ability to create both fitments and locators.

PALLITE offers a genuine alternative to wood through its innovative range of lightweight, strong, clean and recyclable paper transit packaging designed to reduce the total cost of delivery. Born from an idea to counter the frustrations and limitations of other pallet types –the company is changing the way goods are transported through its ultralightweight, yet extremely strong paper transit packaging.

The company manufactures its entire range at a factory in Northamptonshire and supplies a range of sectors, including automotive, pharmaceutical and food industries, as well as exporting, where PALLITE is able to significantly reduce air freight cost savings through weight reduction.
